Students of the Communication Arts and Creative Media programme at Royal Thimphu College, successfully completed a 3 day community-based Digital Literacy initiative in Rukha. Having undergone prior training in Digital Literacy modules, the students took on the role of facilitators, engaging with local community members and school children through interactive sessions on responsible social media use, online safety, and digital awareness.
Guided by faculty mentors Mr. Nithil Dennis and Dr. Rachel, the initiative reflected the programme’s commitment to practice-based learning, enabling students to extend their knowledge beyond the classroom and contribute meaningfully to society.
Supported by the Department of Media, Creative Industry and Intellectual Property (DoMCIIP) and the Tarayana Foundation, the engagement marked a significant step towards fostering a more informed and responsible digital community.
