Sherubtse Media Society (SMS) commemorated World Intellectual Property Day 2026 under the global theme “IP and Sports: Ready, Set, Innovate!” with funding support from the Department of Media, Creative Industry and Intellectual Property (DoMCIIP). The celebration highlighted the role of intellectual property in fostering creativity, innovation, and sports development on April 26,2026.
Two major events marked this year’s observance:
– Video Competition — Students produced original short films reflecting the theme, showcasing the intersection of intellectual property and sports innovation.
– Sports Kit Design Challenge — A creative contest where the winning design was awarded the distinction of being printed as the official Sherubtse College kit, symbolizing both innovation and institutional pride.
The program also featured a awareness talk on Intellectual Property, aimed at educating students on the importance of protecting creative works and innovations. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where winners of both competitions were honored for their outstanding contributions.
